Thank you 2025!
Thank you all new and returning members of the Point Lonsdale Board Riders for making this year all it was!
We’d like to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to the outgoing 2024 committee and our outgoing president, Max Lazarus. Your leadership as president over the last 8 years has positioned the club in an outstanding place, leaving us with a solid foundation to continue supporting our vibrant local surfing community. Another big thank you to Paul Curtis for all your help as treasurer over the past few years!
That brings us to announce our 2026 presidents, Lucy Naylor and Minnie Vorrath. As our first female presidents, Lucy and Minnie will be taking on the role as co-presidents – a huge milestone for the club. We’re incredibly excited to welcome the girls into this role and can’t wait to see the fresh ideas and leadership they’ll bring. With a super strong committee behind them, the club is in an awesome position heading into 2026.

2026 SEASON INFO
We’re thrilled to share a fresh new approach to our competition calendar that will help keep the energy high and the club growing stronger than ever. Instead of kicking off the season in January and then hitting a long mid-year pause — which can make it hard to maintain momentum — we’re shifting to a more continuous and engaging timeline.
Starting from 2027, the season will begin in October/November and wrap up in March/April, aligning perfectly with the warmer months and best beach days ensuring more consistent stoke throughout the year! To make this transition smooth, 2026 will operate as a special one-off season. We’ll kick things off with the Greg Davidson Memorial contest on January 25th, then continue through to April (see attached calendar). While it’s a slightly different structure just for this year, it sets us up for an ideal and exciting ongoing schedule moving forward. Due to the shorter season, membership prices will be discounted for 2026.
We’re really looking forward to what this new format brings — more waves, more competitions, and more time together in the water!
For the aggregate – This season will feature four events for the senior divisions, with your top three results determining your final standing on the leaderboard.
As a result of the short transitional season membership will be half price!
It has taken us a while to collect our heads and let the dust settle after such an epic Lighthouse party in 2025. It was our biggest party to date but it felt like the smoothest to run. A huge thank you to all who volunteered and contributed towards the day. It really takes a village to make these parties happen and we are blessed with a community of caring and contributing folk.
Punters can tell when an event is there to just make money. The events industry has been feeling the pinch the last few years with slow ticket sales and poor attendance, but the passion shown by everyone involved really speaks to our audience and as a result we have just grown stronger and stronger over the years.
It’s been another year of giving the security guards the easiest night of work they will have all year, giving FeedMe a great boost of funding to the amazing initiatives they deliver and ultimately strengthening our clubs financial position, all while giving Point Lonsdale a party to remember.
Thanks to you all, we raised over $20,000 for the club and had over 800 people through the door across the day/night. Thank you once again, we can’t wait for the next one!
